For Spring/Summer 2027, Tory Burch approaches femininity with the curiosity of a collector. Described as “opulent femininity” seen through the collector’s eye, the collection considers the psychology of how women put things together, balancing beauty, utility and humour with a distinctly American sense of pragmatism.
The result is deliberately eclectic. Athletic knits meet hip-slung skirts, drawstring trousers and patch-pocket shirts, while opera coats are cut with the ease of a favourite trench. Sharp tailoring is gently pushed off-kilter, creating silhouettes that feel polished without becoming overly precise.
Texture Takes Centre Stage
Fabric becomes another form of collecting, with the collection layering texture, depth and pattern. Menswear wools are lightened with silk, while paper cotton is tie-dyed and washed. Wallpaper jacquards are lined with contrasting silks and fil coupés, while beachy “terrycloth” appears in chenille. Crepe de chine is given a liquid drape, adding movement to the tactile vocabulary.
Colour brings an equally optimistic energy. Coral, turquoise, violet, mint, vermilion and butter yellow appear against deep browns and cool neutrals, creating unexpected combinations that feel expressive rather than ornamental.
The collection embraces embellishment with the same more-is-more attitude. Metallic embroidery, flocked pie-crust cardigans and polkadot yarns add richness, while painterly handmade feathers are tucked into scarves and pompoms, draped around shoulders or attached to bags for an exuberant flourish.
The Collector’s Accessories
Accessories continue the theme of considered accumulation. The new Lee Radziwill shopper takes inspiration from the humble paper bag, reinterpreted with ultra-thin straps, while a soft shoulder bag features kiss-lock pouches. Tory Burch also continues its partnership with the Indian artisans of Marasim through the Handwoven Basket Tote, offered in fresh colours and patterns.
Footwear follows the collection’s fluid approach. Peep-toe pumps and Venetian-style slippers wrap and fold around the foot, while hand-woven leather cord creates elegant slingbacks. Delicate shoes are finished with mother-of-pearl, beads and faux shark teeth, with hand-painted soles extending the artisanal detail around the heel.
Jewellery continues to reinterpret familiar codes. The classic beaded necklace is reconstructed in stacked resin beads, knotted nylon and articulated brass spheres that open to reveal stones within. Sunglasses introduce metal speed frames alongside playful safety goggles.
A Show in Dialogue with Art
The collection was presented at the Isamu Noguchi Sunken Garden, with music produced by Wladimir Schall. The soundtrack brought together tracks including “Bad Moon Rising” by The Reels, “The Perfect Girl” by Mareux, “In Rhythm – Extended” by Scream and Dance and “Total Control” by The Motels.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Tory Burch ultimately treats fashion as an exercise in instinctive collecting. Opulence and practicality coexist, familiar American wardrobe codes are reconsidered, and decorative details are allowed to be playful.
The collection finds elegance not in perfect coordination, but in the confidence to bring unexpected things together. It is a wardrobe shaped by personal instinct, where collected references, practical silhouettes and decorative flourishes coexist with the ease that defines Burch’s American perspective on modern dressing.
