For the third consecutive year, Berluti selected the magnificent, late 19th-century classical townhouse of the Simone & Cino Del Duca Foundation as its creative stage. This season, the central theme revolves around the garden, a concept exploring the delicate transformation of an abstract idea into tangible, artisanal reality.
The presentation immediately plunges visitors into a deeply evocative, multisensory prelude. The intoxicating fragrance of melted wax, the rhythmic cadence of footsteps, and an intentional display of three varying heel sizes instantly celebrate the house’s historic shoemaking origins. This immersive entry is followed by a famous quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince” in the Salon Monceau that reminds guests that “what is essential is invisible to the eye,” setting an authoritative tone for an elegance defined by posture, movement, and deep feeling rather than outward flash.
Among the highlights, this garden theme sartorially yields exquisite poetic expressions where nature seems to grow directly from the garments. Classic signatures are cleverly reimagined: the legendary Forestière jacket features a fresh daffodil blossoming organically from its pocket, while intricate floral embroidery appears to bloom natively across the jersey outerwear. Berluti’s technical mastery also shines through a stunning jacket adorned with a complex mix of laser-cut details and floral embroidery, as well as the Un Jour blouson with its beautiful entrelacs collar.
This organic ethos gracefully grounds the footwear collection, introducing tightly curated capsule series engineered for artistic experimentation. The standout is the Galet Bloom shoe, which draws direct inspiration from the fluid contours of the arum lily, rendering the flower’s natural grace into a highly sculptural silhouette with a striking new patina finish. The design studio translated fragments of four paintings into distinct patinas representing a garden at different hours, from the freshness of a rose garden at daybreak to the romantic atmospheric hues of a garden at dusk, embellishing classic models like Un Jour, Luti, Un Jour de Poche, and Toujours. What’s more, there are new architectures focused on comfort and flexibility, notably the exceptionally supple Un Jour-nal—designed to be carried under the arm like a rolled newspaper—and the Grand Jour tote bag.
The collection’s narrative journey culminates in a poetic space dedicated entirely to the imaginative universe of “The Little Prince”. In the Vigny salon, Saint-Exupéry’s iconic sketches are seamlessly transposed onto a selection of leather goods, including the timeless Alessandro lace-up.
