The air grows still as leading lady Yasamin Jasem sinks back into her seat, her eyes locked onto the chess pieces in front of her. It is hard not to notice the calm countenance that has graced big screens across the nation: the strong brows that frame compelling eyes, lips that hint at a soft smile, and an exuberant aura that seems to radiate even beyond the screen.
Since her debut, the doe-eyed beauty has been known to easily morph into the characters she plays. While Yasamin’s character in horror films or family dramas play with audiences’ hearts according to their respective genres, the first word that comes to mind when describing the young woman behind the mask is warm. But beneath that warmth lies an intriguingly contemplative mind, where quiet confidence and curiosity intertwine to guide her on the path she walks as both public figure and a bright young woman.
It is perhaps this balance between playfulness and purpose that drives the 22-year-old as she navigates her world. Having found her calling at an early age, the stellar actress carefully builds a meaningful life one move at a time, much like moving pieces in chess. Whilst the intentionality behind every move speaks volumes about her wit, Yasamin credits her career to her never-ending curiosity and confidence, both traits that have taken her to new heights. In her younger days, the actress found comfort in the arts and ventured into many creative forms, painting, sculpting, flower arrangement, and more, before finding her calling in acting.
“I loved being photographed, dressing up, and playing pretend in my bedroom,” she says with a smile, “I loved creating my own worlds. Unexpectedly, acting found me.”
Be it manifestation or fate, Yasamin’s pastime led her down a bright path in the acting industry. Her first audition, at just five years of age, left her craving for more. The actress remembers the joy she felt—every second of the audition process and every moment on set became fond memories that carried her through the projects that followed. It was later, through her first horror movie, that Yasamin felt her career begin to gain momentum. When asked what made that project so different, she responds thoughtfully, “You could say it’s the first project where everyone began to see me as a young adult. It was also the moment when I got more opportunities to play roles in other horror movies.”
When she takes on the mask of her characters, she finds herself growing alongside them. To her, acting remains a playground, though now she also views it as a learning opportunity and a responsibility. More than anything, Yasamin hopes that she continues to make her younger self proud by pursuing her dream.

As she continues to weave her future, Yasamin Jasem throws herself into each role she plays, often having to make decisions that shape the future. Much like a game of chess, the way she navigates her career requires patience and strategy. Yet well-thought-out plans are not necessarily the only important thing on the table. “This year, I’m learning to find a balance between careful planning and trusting my instincts,” she reveals, explaining that both are necessary to make career decisions while remaining adaptive. Perhaps it is exactly this adaptable mindset that has helped pull her through tough calls and bold decisions. When asked about one such decision, the once long-haired actress reveals, “One of the boldest moves I’ve made is cutting my hair really short, a style that is so far from what the younger Yasamin would have chosen, for a project.”
It is only through interviews such as these that the world gets to see a rare glimpse into such a bright mind. Having been active since her early years, Yasamin’s long tenure has not been without disadvantages. She nods when asked whether she had turned down an opportunity because it did not feel right: “Before making any decision, I take my time to weigh the outcomes from multiple perspectives, not just for myself but also the ripples it may create for those closest to me.” On that note, there are certain compromises that the principled actress would never make. In the intimate interview, she discloses that unhealthy environments and losing herself in a job are two such things.
In addition to being a creative, Yasamin takes her assumed responsibility as a public figure just as seriously: “As a public figure, I feel the need to take accountability for my work. If I don’t feel like I’m 100% all in, then I would rather opt out of an opportunity.” Additionally, it is undeniable that the scrutiny and comparisons that come with being a public figure have driven even the most successful actors to crack under pressure.
Yet somehow, the wise actress leans into it with a quiet strength: “We can’t avoid comparisons, whether they are made by our inner voices or others. One piece of advice that has stuck with me is to view them as inspiration, to recognise my own strengths and limitations, and to continue to create work that remains true to myself.”
Throughout the interview, it is abundantly clear that Yasamin Jasem is a grounded young woman who is certain of her own identity. It is this self-reassurance and confidence that allow her to not only brush aside comparisons, but also the misconceptions that come with the spotlight. Having accepted the nature of the industry, she stays steadfast, proving others wrong, never failing to maintain an admirable work ethic and positivity on sets.
Often whisked away by schedules and events, maintaining a healthy routine has become a key factor in Yasamin’s life. Beguiling in CHANEL’s Coco Game 2026 capsule collection, the stylish woman also seeks solace in the small things in life: “I try to stay grounded through spending time with myself, just to breathe, enjoy the sun, and have a good cup of coffee in the morning away from distractions or gadgets.”
It may well be that living life to the fullest is what keeps her grounded and motivated, which explains the way she beamed when asked about her next big move: “I’m planning to do a solo trip maybe towards the end of this year.”
It is during these small moments, and even in the rhythms of everyday life, that the charming leading lady continues to learn more about herself. “Every day is a learning curve,” she shares with a smile, explaining that facing and adjusting to new challenges, individuals, and experiences are part of daily life. “We do not only learn from the things or people we face, but also from how we face them as individuals, who we are, and why we cope or react in such ways.”
Far beyond her profession, Yasamin’s answer seems to encompass all parts of her life, including both her personal and interpersonal life: “There is a lot that I am still learning, but for now my focus is on how I can communicate better and be more open with people.” Like any thoughtful move on a chessboard, her intentionality and positive outlook prepare her for future adventures and lessons that would ultimately shape the strong woman she is steadily becoming.
