The global art calendar is packed with multiple art fairs, but few exhibitions successfully bridge business vitality with deep curatorial intentionality. Held from June 4 to 7, 2026, at the Agora Ballroom, ArtMoments Jakarta firmly asserted its role as a cultural gateway in Southeast Asia’s contemporary art landscape. Bringing together more than 70 exhibitors from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea, the fair created a vibrant cross-cultural platform that placed regional expression at the centre of global art conversations. The primary focus of this year’s edition is modern and contemporary Nusantara art.
Guided by Artistic Director Jeong Ok Jeon, this year’s iteration introduced a powerful central theme. Building on the themes of “Renewal” in 2024 and “Restoration” in 2025, “Offerings” marks the next chapter in this year’s curatorial path, reflecting an international search for kindness in an era that increasingly needs it. Departing from conventional, passive viewing formats, the fair embraced an immersive, participatory approach. It transformed art into a living dialogue between creators, galleries, collectors, and audiences, prioritising emotional resonance, narratives, and shared encounters over mere aesthetic observation.
The fair officially opened on June 4, 2026, welcoming VIP collectors, international dignitaries, and media representatives to an immersive artistic celebration. During his opening address, Co-Founder and Fair Director Sendy Widjaja noted that “Offerings” explores how art expresses care, gratitude, responsibility, and cross-cultural dialogue, rather than simply serving as a marketplace for art.
This vision was echoed by Teuku Riefky Harsya (Minister of Creative Economy) and Giring Ganesha Djumaryo (Deputy Minister of Culture), who highlighted ArtMoments as a crucial platform for strengthening Indonesia’s creative ecosystem and international cultural presence. The opening reached its poetic zenith with Henri Affandi’s whimsical performance titled “Sajja.” Reimagining artmaking as a literal act of devotion toward Mother Earth, Affandi turned the physical process and labour of cultivation into an embodied offering that perfectly mirrored the curatorial heart of the exhibition.
This year’s edition features a carefully structured programme that harmonises artistic heritage with innovative viewpoints. Key highlights include ArtMoments Masters, a unique initiative dedicated to honouring and safeguarding the legacy of Southeast Asia’s artistic trailblazers, while fostering responsible stewardship and confidence in art collections through verified artworks. Additionally, the launch of Charity Moments further emphasises the role of art as a driver for social change and shared empathy.
Next is the sensory experience, further enriched by the International Watercolour Society, evocative photography by Ted Van der Hulst, and the Klimt-inspired Bösendorfer “Tree of Life” Grand Piano. Moreover, to nurture future audiences, the fair also introduced accessible pathways, such as ARTFace and the Young Collectors Programme. Meanwhile, family-centric initiatives like MobArt’s Kids Section and the interactive Carrot Card Season 2 enabled younger generations and first-time buyers to connect with high art in an approachable way.
In addition to the exhibitions, the fair also delivered a vibrant array of public programmes that enhanced interaction among artists, art, and audiences. Intellectual curiosity remained vibrant outside the gallery booths through Converse Moments, featuring industry panels with many speakers, and Makers Moments, which highlighted the creative process through highly interactive workshops.
