Life at Lake Maggiore typically unfolds slowly, measured in sunshine and spritzes. As the Alpine mountains soften into the water, summer feels fleeting by design.
Morning espresso at the bar. Aperitivo in the piazza. Linen shirts slip on without thought. Book pages turn lazily, abandoned mid-sentence without consequence. And tomorrow arrives in just the same manner.
For generations of the Zegna family, this Italian landscape has remained a place of return. Here, time and the rituals that fill it are simply inherited. Preserving that state of mind, the house unveils Oasi Lino for their Summer 2026 collection.
A short distance from Oasi Zegna—a 100 km² protected natural territory envisioned by Ermenegildo Zegna—the campaign is conceived as a refined expression free from exaggeration. Nothing is forced or excessive. It is only a way of living that privileges ease, through finesse and the quiet certainty of things done well.
Evoking the essence of summer in heritage interpretation, ZEGNA crosses the lake with legacy. Designed by Carlo Riva, the family-owned Riva Aquarama embodies 1960s Italy’s finest craftsmanship: a sincere harmony engineered between ingenuity and nature.
In the campaign, Global Ambassador Mads Mikkelsen navigates with a lightness that comes only from deep intimacy with the water. While his hands become the vessel, the world around him turns monochrome. Behind the lenses, his gaze drifts across the sun-kissed lake.
Yet the story is not just about the romanticised appeal of the season. For ZEGNA, it is about the clothes that belong to this narrative. Throughout the collection, texture takes centre stage. Linen, cotton, and cashmere are constructed to make movement instinctive and heat almost non-existent, thanks to relaxed silhouettes, extraordinarily-light fabrics, and breathable materials.
Footwear follows the same logic. The house’s iconic Mocassin, an enduring presence within ZEGNA’s fashion vocabulary, grounds the collection. It moves easily across contexts, requiring no adjustment, no second consideration. Like the garments themselves, it belongs to a life already in motion.
Taking its cue from the terrain—pine green, rich taupe, luminous white—each piece easily settles within the environment, absorbing the atmosphere as it shifts.
Still, it is the basis of the material that lives at the centrepiece of Oasi Lino, which sources the world’s most exquisite flax fibres from Normandy, northern France. Planted in spring, the flax gives its signal when summer arrives, bursting to flower and turning the fields pale blue for a few precious days before harvest.
What makes flax compelling is its environmental profile. The crop grows largely on rainfall alone, requires minimal intervention, and produces almost no waste as fibres become fabric, seeds become oil, and byproducts serve other uses.
At ZEGNA, these qualities are not presented as a separate ecological framing. They are the material’s inherent value. By sourcing 100% traceable, European-grown flax, the house elevates linen to its highest expression while maintaining integrity and control across the supply chain. The result is a fabric of environmental intelligence and sensory luxury where stewardship is not an add-on, but a natural extension of quality.
Watching Mads trace the lingering days of Piedmont, the camera shifts between his attire and his gliding gestures, moving beautifully poised and controlled. It recalls his early ballet career. An excellent embodiment of this role. Just as decades of practice imprint themselves on muscle memory, ZEGNA embeds that same precision into their sartorial language.
Once again, ZEGNA presents a rare vision of modern luxury: the quiet certainty that life has fallen precisely into place, and with the right wardrobe, that life is one worth indulging in.
