HP’s On-Device AI to Improve Work Efficiency
HP’s AI journey dates back to 1986, when the company began integrating AI into its global customer support services. Building on this foundation, HP unveiled its latest AI-powered ecosystem at HP Elevate 2026, introducing technologies such as HP IQ, which uses Neural Processing Units (NPUs) to run tasks including audio noise reduction, eye-gaze correction, and local document summarisation directly on the device.

As President Director of HP Indonesia, Juliana Cen is committed to helping companies and workers reduce complexity and increase productivity. She sees an opportunity to help Indonesian companies and workers move beyond surface-level AI implementation.

“At HP, our main focus is to help Indonesian organisations adopt AI in a practical, safe, and meaningful way, while supporting the digital competencies needed by the public to embrace the future of work,” she said.

How HP Answers the Challenges of On-Device AI
On-device AI presents challenges ranging from energy consumption to cybersecurity and software integration. HP addresses these through AI-powered technologies and digital skilling initiatives.

Battery life remains one of the biggest concerns for professionals using AI-powered laptops. HP addresses this with AI PCs that combine high performance with all-day battery life. The HP EliteBook X G2 Series combines AI mobile performance with all-day battery endurance in an ultralight premium design weighing less than 1 kg, earning the CES 2026 Innovation Award.

HP also introduced HP IQ, which is integrated with the HP Workforce Experience Platform to help organisations manage AI workflows and improve productivity. Budiono, Managing Director of Accenture AI & Data, noted that responsible AI adoption depends not only on the technology itself, but also on stronger collaboration across devices, software, services, and digital capabilities within the broader technology ecosystem.

To strengthen cybersecurity, HP also expanded HP Wolf Security with AI-powered endpoint protection and enhanced management capabilities through the HP Workforce Experience Platform.

Looking into a Sustainable Tech Future
Cen believes that “AI should adapt to people, not the other way around.” Contrary to popular belief, AI remains personal by learning users’ behaviours, optimising performance, and improving collaboration.

HP also continues to support Indonesia’s digital transformation through long-term investments in digital literacy, AI education, and teacher development programmes. For HP, the future also belongs to the planet. The company balances premium craftsmanship with more sustainable material choices, including recycled aluminium and ocean-bound plastics.

She believes that a premium device should be powerful, personal, and trusted. With that in mind, HP offers a wide range of innovative on-device AI solutions to support business professionals, gamers, and IT teams.
