Precision is often associated with engineering and performance, yet at its finest, it becomes an art form expressed through craftsmanship, innovation, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. Celebrating this philosophy, The Time Place Magazine collaborated with World Beyond by Mercedes-Benz Indonesia to present The Rhythm of Precision on 14 August 2025, an intimate gathering that explored the many dimensions of precision through automotive engineering, horology, and fine whisky.
Held at World Beyond in Thamrin Nine, Mercedes-Benz Indonesia’s immersive brand space, the evening welcomed valued guests into a world where luxury and innovation converge. Home to some of the marque’s most iconic models, including the G-Class, Mercedes-AMG, and Mercedes-Maybach, the venue offered the ideal setting to explore the craftsmanship and technical mastery that define the brand.
The evening began with a closer look at precision engineering through the lens of automotive and watchmaking excellence. Joining the experience was IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes-Benz’s longstanding partner whose shared commitment to performance and craftsmanship has led to numerous collaborations over the years. Guests were invited to discover the latest Pilot’s Watches collection, including timepieces inspired by the highly anticipated Formula 1 film, highlighting the synergy between motorsport, engineering, and horological innovation.
Further underscoring the theme of performance, Mercedes-Benz Indonesia unveiled the newly launched Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, showcasing the brand’s pursuit of dynamic driving experiences without compromising luxury. The evening also featured an exclusive presentation of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, giving guests the privilege of being among the first in Jakarta to experience the model up close before its wider introduction.
As the night unfolded, the exploration of precision extended beyond machines and mechanics into the world of fine spirits. In collaboration with The Distillers Library, guests embarked on a guided whisky tasting featuring Glenfiddich’s prestigious Grand Series. Celebrating the unexpected union of traditional Scottish whisky-making with rare international casks, the collection demonstrated how patience, expertise, and meticulous craftsmanship can create extraordinary results. From the rich complexity of the 21-Year-Old Gran Reserva to expressions aged up to 31 years, each pour offered a unique perspective on the art of precision distilling.
Adding an interactive element to the evening, guests were invited to test their skills at a Formula 1 racing simulator, experiencing the split-second decision-making and control required in the world of motorsport. The activity brought the event’s central theme to life, offering a hands-on appreciation for the precision that underpins performance at the highest level.
Bringing together automotive excellence, horological craftsmanship, and the art of whisky-making, The Rhythm of Precision offered guests an evening of discovery centred on the pursuit of excellence. Through thoughtfully curated experiences and meaningful collaborations, guests gained a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication behind each creation.
